Happy New Year

A couple of weeks back I stumbled upon this song Uyirum Neeye from Pavithra (Thanks to SunTV) which brought tears in my eyes thinking about my Mom. It is such a wonderful song which showed the brilliance of ARR and UnniKrishnan. Viramuthu's powerful, yet simple, lyrics is sure to touch any sensitive soul who listens to this song. I have never heard this song before just like so many other friends of mine to my surprise. When I looked for track I realized Jo has sung this song and I don't know how I missed it. I really feel bad about spending 15 years (the song came out in 1994) of my life without enjoying this song.

I learnt and recorded this song to wish my Mom HAPPY NEW YEAR. I couldn't find a track, so quickly created a mediocre track myself with a loop. Please give it a ear and let me know of your thoughts.

Wish you a HAPPY AND PROSPEROUS 2009.

Created a track? More than "good enough" in my books!
I like your clarity of words. Language is unfamiliar to me.

Paras, thanks for the time (inspite of the unfamiliarity of the language) and the words of encouragment. Appreciate it.

Thanks for stopping by Sumi. Appreciate the feedback.

Wish you a very happy new year TC ji. I really like this song. Very nicely sung by you, with a lot of emotion. Also, a great job on the karaoke. A prefect way to wish your mother.

Hi TCR....Happy New Year to you...albeit a little late :)...I've been musically very inactive of late...I m not sure what is the problem but soundclick links are not loading up on your page...Is it a problem with soundclick itself or maybe a plugin problem with macs...not sure...will try listening again on a PC :)

priti said...

I was able to listen to it finally....looks like soundclick wasn't working properly yesterday....very beautifully sung...befitting gift for any mother...Your voice feels fresh....konjam pitching problems in the higher pitch...but the overall feel was really good...Keep singing TCR...We still have the Kannada song pending .... Will buy a new mic and email you :)

Thanks for the visit Rajesh. Love your inspiring work as well.

Priti, long time no see. Good to hear from you. Thanks for the time and valuable feedback as always. Yeah, I have been a little tied up as well. Will soon take an attempt at it and send you the tracks. Did you hear Varanam Ayiram songs. Some good ones in it.

Nicely sung:-).You have a very good feel in your voice which is your major plus. Now,it goes off the shruthi at many places throughout the song. Also the sangathis are not in their right places. If these two aspects are kept in mind I think it would transform you singing to another level:).Good luck. Please mail the karaoke track of this song to me.I have been looking for this one since a very long time.
Thanks.My ID is meena_shanker2001@yahoo.com
